Research

Currently working in the area of Design for Supply Chain Management, which is an extension of my earlier interest in the areas of Computer Aided Engineering, Knowledge-Based Systems in Design and Manufacturing, Design Automation, Manufacturing Automation Management and Total Quality Management. Have published several papers in International Journals and Proceedings. Co-authored a chapter in a book on Advances in Feature Based Manufacturing. Was awarded the best paper award in the area of AI, Expert Systems and Knowledge-Based Systems at the International Computers in Engineering Conference organized by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) at Boston, USA.

Currently the Chief Coordinator of the recently established COMPUTER AIDED PRODUCT AND PROCESS DEVELOPMENT LAB.
Held responsiblities as Area Coordinator of the Operations Management Area and also as a Member of the Placement Committee.

Other intrests
|
Member, Course Design Team of IGNOU for their new course on Logistics & Supply Chain Management. This committee comprises of faculty members from other esteemed organizations such as IITs, Mangement Institutes (IIM and MDI) and representatives from the Industry.
Associate Member, Forum of Free Enterprise (India)
My other interests are mostly aimed at developing the knowledge base for strengthening domestic supply chains. Have designed and developed courses for the small, medium and large enterprises of Orissa. The first one, Total Quality Management for Small Businesses, is meant for managers of small business units. The sequel on Supply Chain Management expects active participation from key members of the supply chains.
Have also designed and developed courses for service organizations. Was a resource person at the State Institute of Health and Family Welfare for their courses on Quality in Health Services (Focus: Facility Planning and Design). Also developed an In-company program on Services Marketing and Service Quality for the marketing executives of the Department of Posts.
Currently pursuing my interest of setting up a CUSTOMER SYNCHRONIZED MANUFACTURING RESOURCE PLANNING CELL at XIM.
